Senior Chemical Process Engineer – 12-Month Contract (On-Site, UK)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Senior Chemical Process Engineer
to join a confidential project with a respected UK-based engineering and construction consultancy. This 12-month contract role is primarily site-based, with the potential for hybrid working after an initial period. The role will be split across two operational sites, and candidates must be willing and able to travel between locations as required.
The position involves contributing to the transformation and optimisation of existing industrial assets, as well as supporting the design and implementation of new systems.
As a
Senior Chemical Process Engineer , you will play a key role in delivering high-quality process engineering solutions within a secure and highly regulated environment. You’ll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant outcomes across all phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review process engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, heat and mass balance calculations, datasheets, specifications, schedules, etc.)
Participate in safety and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with quality standards and client requirements
Engage with vendors and evaluate technical proposals
Support utility system design and plant layout planning
Liaise professionally with stakeholders and represent the client with discretion
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Chemical Engineering
Proven experience in the Life Sciences sector, particularly pharmaceutical facilities
Strong background in detailed design and refurbishment of process plants
Experience working within multi-disciplinary design teams
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer status
