West Midlands Police’s Centre for Applied Automation seeks an experienced Senior Process Analyst to lead end-to-end process automation, governance, and benefits realisation. You will collaborate with RPA Developers, Requirements Consultants, and stakeholders to ensure processes are well understood and appropriately approved for automation.

The role emphasizes discovery workshops, process documentation, and KPI reporting to senior stakeholders, with hybrid on-site work and a strong governance

Qualifications

• Significant experience across the RPA product lifecycle: discovery, capture, design & change of RPA processes.
• Experience leading process discovery and translating workshops into process docs.
• Ability to assess automation candidates for technical and operational fit.
• Change impact awareness and adapting automation strategies accordingly.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and presenting at governance forums.
• Owned automation pipeline end-to-end from intake to post-implementation review.
• Experience driving benefits realisation and KPI reporting to senior stakeholders.

West Midlands Police’s Centre for Applied Automation is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Process Analyst to join our team.

We are seeking an innovative, solution oriented Senior Process Analyst to join our team and contribute to the advancement of automation and efficiency in law enforcement, to make a real difference to the people of the West Midlands.

You will join our award-winning Centre for Applied Automation, working alongside a highly collaborative and dedicated team of developers within our Delivery Management function.

As Senior Process Analyst, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of process automation. You will oversee discovery and documentation through to pipeline governance, benefits realisation, and stakeholder reporting.

The Senior Process Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring that the right processes are selected, properly understood, and effectively governed before and after automation. You will achieve this working alongside RPA Developers, Requirements Consultants, Software Developers and stakeholders using industry-leading tools such as UiPath.

We'd really welcome your application if you have:

• Significant experience of the RPA product lifecycle, encompassing discovery, capture, design & change of RPA processes using UiPath.
• Experience of leading process discovery, running facilitated workshops with business areas and translating them into high-quality process documentation.
• A demonstrable ability to assess automation candidates for technical and operational suitability, producing process overviews and recommendations for pipeline approval.
• A keen awareness of change impact and the ability to adapt automation strategies accordingly.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, coordinating UAT, and presenting at pipeline governance forums to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A proven track record of owning an automation pipeline end-to-end, from intake and prioritisation through to approval, development, and post-implementation review.
• Experience of driving benefits realisation and management information reporting, tracking savings against targets and presenting KPI dashboards and performance reports to senior stakeholders.
• A relevant degree-level qualification (IT or Business) or a formal Business Analysis qualification, alongside working knowledge of UK GDPR/DPA as it applies to automated processes.

Experience of the following would also be beneficial:

• Process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
• ITIL Foundation certificate or a demonstrable understanding of ITIL principles.
• Project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2).
• Broader automation and AI technologies, such as Agentic Automation, document understanding, and process mining.
• Implementing standards on approaches to discovery and documentation.

Selection Process

The application process involves a short case study so you have opportunity to demonstrate, rather than just telling us, your approach to RPA challenges which will be followed by a competency interview.

Interview schedule: Successful candidates will be issued with a case study pack w/c Monday 5th October which they will be expected to return the day before the interview which will take place on w/c Monday 12th October 2026.

Vetting: Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Counter Terrorism scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

Medical: Appointment to this role will be dependent upon you successfully passing medical checks, which may include a drug and hearing test.

Hours/Location:This is a full-time position working between core hours of 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. The role is hybrid working with 60% of working days on-site.
