Qualifications

• Substantial experience with good practice in probation settings
• Understanding of Probation Service role in CJ system
• Experience of risk management and multi-agency procedures
• Ability to evaluate practice and contribute to policy development
• Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Commitment to equality and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Provide effective management and leadership to the team
• Ensure quality delivery of good practice and performance
• Deploy resources cost-effectively within budget
• Access, interpret and apply performance data to maximise outcomes
• Manage staff development and address underperformance
• Ensure offender managers meet public protection standards
• Contribute to multi-agency safeguarding and casework reviews
• Promote continuous improvement in service delivery
• Coordinate with partners and stakeholders
• Represent NPS with internal/external partners
• Work flexibly as part of a management team
• Comply with health and safety policies
