Job summary

Focus Resourcing is seeking an experienced Private Client Lawyer (Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive) to join a Reading-based team. You will manage wills, probate, tax planning, trusts and Court of Protection matters, while guiding junior colleagues and contributing to departmental strategy.

You will build strong client relationships, support business development, and help raise the department's profile within the local legal community.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• 3-7 years' PQE in Private Client law
• Experience across a broad range of private client matters
• Excellent technical knowledge on complex estates and tax planning
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior fee earners
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Commercially aware with interest in business development
• Proactive, collaborative and committed to excellent client service

Responsibilities

• Manage your own varied caseload of private client matters including wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, probate and estate administration, tax planning, trust administration and Court of Protection matters
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members
• Supervise, mentor and develop colleagues
• Contribute to the strategic development of the department
• Build strong relationships with referrers and professional contacts
• Support business development, networking and marketing initiatives
• Raise the profile of the department within the local and professional community
