Job summary

ICE Recruit is seeking a Senior / Principal Structural Engineer for an Ashford-based role. The position emphasises client liaison alongside strong technical leadership and business acumen.

You will bring extensive design experience in low-rise housing, manage your own projects end-to-end, and attend site and client visits with full autonomy. Collaboration with a Director will help shape the practice and knowledge sharing across the team.

Do you enjoy liaising with clients and building relationships, as well as the technical side of engineering?

Our client is seeking a seasoned engineer who has extensive experience in the design of low-rise housing.

They are looking for a senior or principal structural engineer who is good at more than just the technical side of the job. Yes, you will have the design experience, but you will also be a people person who is able to liaise with clients and have good business sense.

Most importantly, you will have experience managing your own projects, attending site and client visits, working with full autonomy. Whilst you will not manage a team, you will be expected to liaise with existing team and impart your extensive knowledge. If you have your own contact/client base, this would be an advantage.

You will work closely with a Director to contribute towards his vision for shaping the business practices, and he is open to listening to your ideas and moving the practice forward.
