Job summary

Leonardo in Edinburgh seeks a Senior/Principal Production Support Electronics Engineer to diagnose hardware issues and support NPI, working closely with Operations and cross-functional teams.

You will investigate faults, coordinate with Design and Manufacturing, provide detailed problem reports, and help resolve obsolescence while contributing to board-level test solutions and product quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electronics or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, fault-finding and test methods.
• Experience supporting complex hardware products in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and diagnose electronics failures on laser products, identify root cause and recommend corrective action.
• Escalate critical pattern faults to ensure timely resolution.
• Liaise with design teams and other engineering disciplines to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Provide detailed reports to management and customers on problem resolution.
• Manage emerging component obsolescence issues and coordinate with supply chain.
• Support transition to rate production for new laser products (NPI) and ensure robust board-level testing solutions.
• Offer feedback on manufacturability, testability, cost reduction, and field data-driven improvements.
