Job summary

Leonardo S.p.A. in Edinburgh is seeking a Production Support Electronics Engineer to join the Advanced Targeting Sector.

The role is primarily site-based, with 3–5 days on the Edinburgh site, involved in fault investigation, design changes, test improvements and product sustainment for laser and infrared countermeasure products. You will work with Operations and cross-functional teams across Electronics, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Firmware, and Supply Chain, driving issues to closure and

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level electronics or equivalent with hands-on hardware experience.
• Solid understanding of analog/digital circuits and PCB manufacturing processes.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across power, analog, and digital domains.
• Ability to operate standard lab test equipment and document results.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and diagnose electronics failures on laser/IR systems and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage critical fault escalations to ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with design, mechanical, software, and production teams for issue resolution.
• Provide detailed problem-reports and traceability to management and customers.
• Support obsolescence resolution and product sustainment activities.
• Assist with NPI and transition to rate production where applicable.
