Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Principal Process Engineer to lead UK water projects across the UK. You will provide senior technical leadership across water and wastewater programmes, shaping strategy and governance, and mentoring engineers.

Based in London, High Wycombe, Reading, Brighton, Southampton or Cambridge, the role offers a path to influence investment strategies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive process engineering experience in water/wastewater/utilities sectors.
• Strong technical experience in process design, mass balances and hydraulic assessments.
• Proven senior technical leadership and assurance across complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Understanding of UK water industry requirements and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Leadership and people development capabilities; experience in business development.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership across complex water and wastewater projects.
• Act as a technical authority, offering expert advice, challenge and assurance.
• Lead and assure process designs, calculations, mass balances and hydraulic assessments.
• Shape engineering strategy from concept to commissioning.
• Govern engineering activities, identifying risks and applying best practices.
• Build relationships with senior client stakeholders as a strategic adviser.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure integration with civil/mechanical/electrical disciplines.
• Support investment strategies, bids, frameworks and growth opportunities.
