Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to join our UK team across multiple locations including London and High Wycombe. You will provide technical leadership across water and wastewater projects, delivering robust engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle and mentoring engineers within the Process Engineering community.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams, influence project delivery, and contribute to growth of Stantec’s Process Engineering capability across the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in process engineering within the water/wastewater/utilities sectors.
• Strong technical experience across process design, calculations, mass balances and hydraulic assessments.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership across complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of water/wastewater treatment processes and UK industry requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineers.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to delivery of complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of process engineering solutions across water and wastewater projects.
• Develop, review and assure process designs, calculations, mass balances, hydraulic assessments and technical specifications.
• Provide technical direction to project teams and ensure practical, sustainable solutions.
• Lead projects from concept through detailed design to construction support.
• Support asset optimisation, performance improvement, site investigations and testing as needed.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and environmental specialists for integrated solutions.
• Build strong client relationships and translate challenges into engineering outcomes.
• Contribute to investment programmes, bids and UK water sector opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Champion innovation, best practice and continuous improvement in process engineering delivery.
