Job summary

Stantec invites applications for a Senior Principal Process Engineer to lead strategic process engineering for Scottish Water projects across Scotland, including treatment upgrades, resilience and asset improvements.

You will act as a senior technical authority, overseeing design, governance and engineering solutions from strategy through to delivery, while mentoring future technical leaders and supporting business growth with clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering required.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or active progression toward chartership.
• Extensive experience in process engineering within water/wastewater sectors.
• Strong technical leadership across complex projects and programmes.
• Good understanding of Scottish Water regulatory environment and standards.
• Experience in governance, design assurance and strategic advisory roles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic process engineering leadership across Scottish Water projects.
• Lead and assure process design, calculations, assessments and technical specifications.
• Provide governance and independent review across projects.
• Act as senior technical adviser to Scottish Water and influence investment decisions.
• Support lifecycle projects from strategy to delivery with Scottish Water and partners.
• Contribute to DV4 programme through innovative solutions and standards.
• Mentor and develop senior engineers within the team.
• Support growth of Stantec’s Scottish Water business through bids and frameworks.
