Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for integrated building/services projects in a collaborative team. You will drive concepts through to construction information, mentor engineers, and engage with clients to ensure technically excellent outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on technical leadership, cross-disciplinary coordination, and delivery within programme and budget constraints. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of building services electrical design for built environment and transport sectors.
• Experience across feasibility, concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Familiarity with industry design standards, regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead production and approval of electrical design concepts, drawings and specs.
• Act as technical leader supporting feasibility to construction information.
• Help develop internal standards and improve design approaches.
• Coordinate electrical solutions with disciplines, clients and delivery teams.
• Guide others and resolve design challenges with sound engineering judgement.
• Prepare and review reports, calculations, specs and tender docs.
• Support delivery to meet programme, budget and quality targets.
• Champion health, safety and environmental regulations (CDM).
• Contribute to business by building client relationships and pursuing opportunities.
• Promote collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance.
