Job summary

Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice service is seeking a Senior Primary Care Nurse to lead a multidisciplinary, nurse-led service at HMP Wealstun. The role focuses on preventing hospital admissions, managing medication rounds, and responding to emergencies within a prison setting.

Full-time across three days (7am to 7:30pm) with alternate weekends; includes opportunity to undertake a prescribing course, subject to NMC registration and vetting.

Job description

This Senior Primary Care Nurse post sits in the Primary Care team at HMP Wealstun, a category C male prison run by Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice service. The role leads a multidisciplinary team in a nurse-led service aimed at preventing hospital admissions, with medication rounds, controlled medicines and emergency response. Full time over three days a week, with shifts from 7am to 7.30pm and alternate weekends, it includes the chance to take a prescribing course. Fit depends on NMC registration and passing the vetting and security checks.
