Job summary

Kenton Black Limited is seeking a skilled Preconstruction Manager to join our Midlands team. You will oversee the preconstruction process from enquiry through tender submission and contract award, coordinating multi-disciplinary bid teams and driving robust methodologies.

Ideal candidates bring strong civil engineering knowledge, proven tender management experience, and the ability to engage with clients and supply chain partners to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Preconstruction Manager, Preconstruction Lead or similar senior role.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering and infrastructure.
• Experience leading tenders from enquiry to contract award.
• Understanding of buildability, sequencing and temporary works.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary bid teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the preconstruction process from enquiry to tender submission.
• Lead multidisciplinary tender teams across estimating, design, planning, procurement and operations.
• Develop competitive tender strategies and robust methodologies.
• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications for technical submissions.
• Identify risks and coordinate subcontractor and supply-chain engagement.
• Ensure smooth handover from preconstruction into delivery after award.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and partners.
