Kenton Black Limited in the Midlands is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor.

You will coordinate the preconstruction process from enquiry through tender submission, leading multi-disciplinary teams and developing competitive technical submissions.

The role offers a senior, influential position with exposure to high-value Midlands projects and opportunities to shape delivery strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Preconstruction Manager, Preconstruction Lead, Technical Manager, Senior Estimator or similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering and infrastructure construction.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary bid teams.
• Experience reviewing tender documentation and construction methodologies.
• Experience working with NEC contracts would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing the preconstruction and tender process from enquiry through to submission.
• Leading multidisciplinary tender teams across estimating, commercial, design, planning, procurement and operations.
• Developing effective and competitive tender strategies.
• Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, drawings and project requirements.
• Providing technical input into tenders, construction methodologies and delivery strategies.
• Identifying technical, commercial and construction risks throughout the tender process.
• Coordinating subcontractor and supply-chain engagement.
• Leading tender adjudications and supporting senior management through the approval process.
