Job summary

PSR Solutions has partnered with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor to appoint a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager (Bid Manager) for its Midlands business. You will lead the full bid and preconstruction process from inception through to contract award, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and shaping winning strategies on £10m-£100m projects across Education, Healthcare, Commercial, and Public Sector.

Qualifications

• Construction related degree or equivalent.
• Professional qualification such as MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM, or equivalent.
• Experience delivering bids between £10m and £100m.
• Framework and public-sector procurement experience.
• Proven experience leading complex bids and preconstruction activities within a main contractor environment.
• Strong understanding of two-stage tenders, PCSAs, and large-scale construction projects.
• Background in Preconstruction, Operations, Commercial, Design, Planning, or Estimating.
• Excellent client-facing, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially astute with strong risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate bid teams across Preconstruction, Design, Commercial, Planning, Estimating, and Operations.
• Manage two-stage and negotiated tender opportunities from inception to award.
• Develop bid strategies, manage risk, and ensure high-quality, compliant submissions.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
• Lead workshops and stakeholder engagement throughout the bidding process.
• Drive sustainability, innovation, and social value initiatives within bids.
• Ensure smooth transition from preconstruction into project delivery.
