Job summary

The Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust seeks a senior practitioner psychologist to deliver specialist assessments and interventions for children with neurodevelopmental and complex mental health needs. The role involves autonomous work, supervision of psychologists, and leading service evaluation within the Neurodevelopmental Hub.

Applicants must be HCPC-registered and hold a BPS-accredited doctoral training.

Qualifications

• Doctoral-level training in clinical or applied psychology (BPS-accredited).
• HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention for children with neurodevelopmental and complex mental health needs.
• Formulate treatment plans and undertake risk assessments, working autonomously.
• Facilitate MDT meetings and diagnostic discussions per NICE guidelines.
• Provide specialist consultation to multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
• Supervise practitioner psychologists, assistant psychologists and research staff.
• Lead service evaluation, audit, research and quality-improvement activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and reports to HCPC and Trust standards.
