Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Practitioner Psychologist to join the Neurodevelopmental Hub within the Children and Families Division for a bank position on Band 7. You will work autonomously providing specialist assessments and interventions for children with developmental needs across the Birmingham area.

Applicants must have doctoral-level training in clinical or applied psychology and current HCPC registration, with the ability to consult families, carers

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Doctoral level training in clinical psychology accredited by the BPS.
• Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments for children referred to the service.
• Develop complex psychological formulations and individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions for children, families and groups.
• Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment planning, progress monitoring and discharge.
• Provide specialist advice, consultation and guidance to multidisciplinary colleagues and partner agencies.
• Contribute to risk assessment and care planning across the child’s wider network.
