Job description

Social Work Senior Practitioner within Looked After Children Team in Shrewsbury UK – Earn £32.66 per hour. This ongoing locum position is a full-time opportunity. As a pivotal part of the Children Looked After Team, you will undertake vital assessment work and intervention plans to ensure that looked after children are supported effectively.

What you will do:

  • Undertake ongoing assessment work and intervention with children and families.
  • Progress children’s plans to ensure timely access to services.
  • Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure the child’s voice is integrated into case planning.
  • Visit families as required to assess and reassess children’s needs while under local authority care.
  • Act as Case Manager, coordinating review meetings and as Key Worker where a Children Looked After (CLA) Plan is in operation.
  • Provide and contribute to Child and Family Assessments.
  • Develop ways of identifying and assessing children in need as outlined in the Children’s Services Plan.
  • Liaise with other agencies on behalf of service users and arrange specific assistance as needed.
  • Fulfill statutory duties authorized by senior management and present evidence and reports to courts.
  • Participate in the team’s Duty system as required.
  • Maintain accurate computerised records and documentation.
