Job summary

TPF Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Practice Accountant to join a friendly independent accountancy practice based in Gillingham. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, and related personal and corporate tax work, while supporting clients and mentoring junior staff.

You will work with directors on technical queries and ad hoc assignments, manage your own workload and client relationships, and contribute to improving internal processes in a

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or part qualified, or qualified by experience.
• At least seven years in an accountancy practice.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Knowledge of personal and corporate tax implications.
• Sound knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulations.
• Experience using accountancy software.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Audit experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Preparing management accounts with meaningful client analysis.
• Preparing or reviewing personal and corporate tax work arising from accounts.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and provide advice.
• Reviewing work completed by junior staff and mentoring them.
• Supporting workflow management and meeting deadlines.
• Assisting directors with technical queries and ad hoc projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and add value for clients.
