Job summary

Baringa is seeking a Senior Consultant/Manager for its Technical Advisory team focused on the Energy & Resources sector. You will work on grid connection, compliance, and technical due diligence across generation, storage, and large-demand assets, supporting investors and developers with independent engineering insights.

Qualifications

• Typically 5–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong foundation in electrical/power systems engineering with a related degree.
• Experience undertaking technical due diligence and lender-facing technical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Apply high voltage power systems expertise to grid and electrical workstreams across buy-side, sell-side and lender technical due diligence.
• Review connection applications, offers and ICP/IDNO arrangements and associated schedules.
• Assess grid code and compliance requirements including reactive power, voltage control and fault ride-through.
• Evaluate power system studies (load flow, fault level, harmonics) for reasonableness.
• Assess network constraints, curtailment, and emission/latency implications for asset output.
• Review transmission and distribution infrastructure and asset capacity headroom.
• Benchmark costs and charges, and reflect findings in reports and risk registers.
• Translate complex technical information into clear recommendations for investors and engineering teams.
