Job summary

Sustainable Infrastructure is expanding its Manchester team and seeks an experienced Power Systems Engineer to lead complex power projects for data centres, utilities and critical infrastructure. You’ll mentor engineers, influence clients, and shape projects from concept through delivery within a growing consultancy.

You’ll work in a roles with technical leadership, client engagement and business development, with a visible impact on the Power Systems capability across the UK and Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• CEng or actively working towards chartership.
• Significant experience in power systems design, analysis and delivery across data centres, utilities, renewables or critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of power system studies and electrical network design.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing client relationships.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex power systems and substation projects.
• Undertake and review load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, arc-flash and transient studies.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Engage directly with clients and support proposals, bids and business development.
• Review designs and manage technical, programme, budget and quality risks.
• Mentor and develop engineers and contribute to technical excellence.
• Help shape engineering standards, innovation and the future direction of the Power Systems team.
