Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting a Senior System Performance Engineer to lead power system studies for the northern Scotland transmission network. You will work on EMT modelling, PSCAD simulations and oversee the technical quality of studies.

The role requires integration of low carbon generation and related technologies, with opportunities to mentor peers and drive innovative projects within the System Performance team.

Qualifications

• Experience in power system analysis in transmission is required.
• Strong modelling and analysis capabilities across multiple domains.
• Proficiency with industry tools such as PSSE, PowerFactory and PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver detailed simulation studies for renewable connections.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the team.
• Lead innovation projects in system modelling and monitoring.
• Support network operations through event/disturbance analysis.
• Represent SSEN Transmission in external meetings and industry groups.
