Job summary

The Wellcome Sanger Institute invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Senior Postdoctoral Fellow in statistical genomics, focusing on cfDNA analysis in pregnant women and people. You will develop and apply statistical and deep learning methods to genotype calling and biomarkers, collaborating across international groups and large cohorts.

We seek candidates with strong statistics/genetics backgrounds, Python or R proficiency, and experience in scalable analysis pipelines.

Qualifications

• PhD in statistics or related field.
• Strong background in statistics/genetics.
• Experience with raw sequence data and large-scale genomic analyses.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R; Unix/Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply statistical and deep learning methods for cfDNA analysis.
• Call fetal and maternal genotypes from high-coverage sequence data.
• Develop biomarkers from methylation-aware whole-genome data.
• Collaborate with groups at international institutions.
