Job summary

Genome Research Limited (GRL) invites applications for two levels of Postdoctoral Fellows focusing on cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from pregnant women and people. You will develop methods to call fetal/maternal genotypes from high-coverage cfDNA data and work with collaborators across Europe.

The role requires a PhD in statistics or statistical genetics, strong programming in Python/R, and experience with large genomic datasets. Hybrid working is offered with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD in statistics, statistical genetics, genomics or a related field.
• Strong background in developing and benchmarking statistical methods.
• Experience with cfDNA or large-scale genomic data is desirable.
• Proficient in Python and/or R; Unix/Linux proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop new statistical and deep learning methods for calling fetal and maternal genotypes from cfDNA data.
• Collaborate with international groups and contribute to large cohort studies.
• Lead software development and ensure reproducible code and pipelines.
• Mentor junior researchers and shape method development direction.
