Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Connections Policy Manager to shape customer connections policy and engage in industry reform. You will develop policy positions, respond to consultations, and represent the company in industry groups, balancing stakeholder needs and strategic goals.

You will work across a diverse portfolio and collaborate with NESO, Ofgem, DESNZ, network operators and customers to deliver aligned, evidence-based positions while managing multiple workstreams in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• Understanding of policy, regulatory or industry frameworks and governance structures.
• Experience developing policy positions, consultation responses or regulatory submissions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, translating complex policy into clear information.
• Experience managing multiple complex workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and advocate policy positions on customer connections and industry reform.
• Lead consultation responses, briefing notes and recommendations with input from experts.
• Represent SSEN Transmission in industry groups and stakeholder forums.
• Collaborate across teams to consider policy developments from operational, commercial and strategic perspectives.
• Manage a portfolio of policy workstreams, balancing priorities and delivering outcomes.
