Job summary

SSEN Transmission, part of SSE, seeks a Connections Policy Manager to shape policy for customer connections to the transmission network through policy development, industry reform and regulatory change. Based from Scotland, you’ll work across demand, generation and storage connections to influence outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with NESO, Ofgem and DESNZ, lead consultation responses, manage multiple workstreams and translate complex policy into clear guidance for

Qualifications

• Understanding of policy, regulatory or industry frameworks, governance structures and commercial processes.
• Experience developing policy positions, consultation responses, regulatory submissions or other evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, translating complex policy into accessible information.
• Experience managing multiple complex workstreams, balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and advocate SSEN Transmission's positions on customer connections policy, industry code changes and wider industry reform.
• Lead the development of consultation responses, briefing notes and recommendations with input from subject matter experts.
• Represent SSEN Transmission in industry working groups and stakeholder forums.
• Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure policy developments consider operational, commercial, customer and strategic perspectives.
• Manage a portfolio of policy and industry workstreams, balancing priorities and timescales.
