Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced policy and code specialist to lead the development and implementation of complex electricity policy changes affecting the Connections Team in the GB energy sector. You will manage relationships with Transmission Owners, Ofgem, and other stakeholders, drive reform initiatives, and ensure compliance with connections reform methodologies and CP30.

Strong communication and strategic thinking are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop, champion and drive implementation of complex policies and electricity code changes for the Connections Team.
• Manage relationships with Transmission Owners and Ofgem.
• Understand challenges and drive changes to policies, codes and legislation.
• Lead and advise on a portfolio of policy and code initiatives.
• Ensure initiatives meet connections reform methodologies and the gated process.
• Identify and develop policy changes to facilitate Connections Reform and CP30.
• Engage with government and industry stakeholders (Ofgem, Transmission Owners, DNOs, generators, customers).
• Lead strategic policy changes and support their implementation.
• Collaborate with stakeholder groups, subject matter experts and industry participants on code and policy changes.
• Present and explain information and proposals clearly and concisely.
• Identify policy gaps and lead actions to resolve them.
• Develop robust and compelling approaches for internal and external stakeholders, including senior managers.
