Job summary
National Energy System Operator (NESO) seeks a Policy Development Lead to join the Connections Technical Policy team. You will work with the Connections Operability Assessment team, network owners and customers to develop policy around efficient connection solutions that meet customer needs and Grid Code standards.
The role emphasises power system analysis, technical policy development, and stakeholder engagement to support the net zero pathway while maintaining safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Understanding of SQSS and Grid Code.
- Experience with power system analysis (not essential).
- Experience with Power System Modelling tools (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSSE) (not essential).
- Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management and report writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with COAT to ensure templates are fit for purpose and compliant with Grid Code requirements.
- Manage technical customer queries with customer teams.
- Support contract managers and compliance managers addressing technical queries.
- Support other departments within NESO on technical queries relating to the connections process.
- Contribute/lead technical innovation within Connections.
