Job summary

Balfour Beatty is recruiting a Structures-Focused Senior Project Manager to lead a major UK Defence Infrastructure programme at Derby. The role oversees a £150m project from initiation through to handover, guiding MEP and structural works with a multi-disciplinary team to meet safety, cost, time and quality objectives.

You will lead project reviews, governance and procurement while maintaining strong client relationships and a zero-harm safety culture across the programme.

• MEP experience and strong leadership capabilities.
• Experience with safe systems of work and contract forms.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication and leadership across teams.
• Ability to coach and develop multi-disciplinary staff.
• Thrives in high-pressure, complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Take overall accountability for timely, cost, quality and scope delivery.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project team including engineers and managers.
• Develop relationships with client, supply chain and stakeholders.
• Provide leadership on safety and environmental performance.
• Lead governance, reporting and performance management.
• Ensure plans and resources align with milestones and customer expectations.
• Manage procurement and subcontract allocations.
• Oversee project controls, data-driven decision making and handover.
