Job summary

Balfour Beatty’s Major Projects division in Derby seeks a Programme Risk Manager to shape and deliver the Programme Risk Management Strategy across a complex portfolio. You will work with Project Team Risk Owners and stakeholders to ensure robust risk identification, assessment and mitigation, driving informed decisions across the programme.

You will coordinate risk reporting, lead risk workshops, and develop training to uplift the risk capability of project teams, with a focus on delivery

Qualifications

• Experience in a project-based risk management role across large programmes.
• Strong experience in QCRA / QSRA and use of ARM.
• Understanding of NEC4 contracts, ideally within a cost reimbursable environment.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain project risk registers and ensure compliance with BB standards.
• Manage programme-level risk register derived from project escalations.
• Provide robust risk reporting to support governance and performance.
• Lead risk workshops and drive structured risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
• Deliver risk training to upskill project teams and risk owners.
• Develop and deliver risk reporting to the Programme Leadership Team.
