Job summary

Orion Electrotech Sales is seeking a PLM/ CAD systems lead to drive the strategy, deployment, and day-to-day management of PLM, PDM, and CAD environments in a complex engineering setting.

You will develop roadmaps, manage Siemens NX environments, and collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure robust data governance and process efficiency across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive PLM experience in automotive or complex engineering.
• Proven CAD proficiency, preferably Siemens NX.
• Experience delivering system implementations and data migrations.
• Understanding of BOM management and change control.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven improvement focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, development, and day-to-day management of our PLM, PDM, and CAD environments.
• Lead the selection, deployment, and ongoing management of PLM solutions.
• Develop and deliver strategic roadmaps for PLM and CAD system enhancement.
• Manage CAD environments, including Siemens NX and associated engineering databases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement business requirements and processes.
• Support legacy CAD and PDM environments where required.
• Manage engineering software licensing, maintenance renewals, and budgets.
• Produce reporting and analytics to support service performance and budgeting decisions.
• Provide user support, training, and best-practice guidance.
• Develop procedures, documentation, and work instructions.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners.
• Build and lead a high-performing PLM team.

Requirements

• Previous PLM experience within automotive or a complex engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of CAD systems, ideally Siemens NX.
• Experience delivering system implementations, upgrades, testing, and data migrations.
• Understanding of engineering processes including BOM management, change control, and design release workflows.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• An analytical mindset with the ability to use data and reporting to drive improvements.
