UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead secure, robust software platforms and operations. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to tailor infrastructure and software delivery, while advancing engineering practices and DevSecOps maturity.

You will mentor colleagues, shaping best practices, and drive continuous improvement across the Software Operations Group to ensure safety, security and high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade systems/platforms.
• Proficiency in at least two languages (Python, Bash, Go, or C++).
• Expertise in modern software engineering, DevSecOps/MLOps, CI/CD, containers, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Lead significant technical projects delivering secure, reliable platforms.
• Design and improve resilient solutions across cloud, DevSecOps, MLOps, data workflows.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to understand needs and deliver solutions.
• Develop the Software Operations team by mentoring colleagues and improving processes.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure security-by-design and SRE practices.
