Job summary

Wickes is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable multi-cloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS. You will champion Platform as a Product, implement IaC with Terraform and Packer, and lead CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD/Jenkins) while driving security, reliability, and FinOps in a fast-evolving digital-first environment.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with squads, and contribute to governance, observability, and operational excellence across cloud

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering role within enterprise cloud environments.
• Deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise with strong AWS knowledge.
• Expert Terraform for multi-provider deployments (GCP & AWS).
• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins).
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable multi-cloud infrastructure (GCP & AWS).
• Architect and operate CI/CD pipelines across multi-cloud paths.
• Implement IaC with Terraform and image tooling (Packer).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Ensure security guardrails, governance, and cost optimisation (FinOps).
• Lead observability and SRE practices with Datadog and CloudWatch.
