Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for Alerting. This remote-first role in the UK involves building and scaling alerting, working across Grafana Open Source and Cloud teams.

You will help deliver distributed systems for ingestion, evaluation, and delivery of alerts, with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance. You will influence the roadmap, own features end-to-end, mentor teammates, and engage in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Experience with Go required.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, C++, or Rust translates well.
• Experience building distributed systems at scale.
• Open-source and cloud experience a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in influencing roadmap and personal career objectives.
• Collaborate with team to deliver new features and iterate based on results.
• Drive projects from ideation to production and operations.
• Contribute to open-source projects beyond the team scope.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems for reliability and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and own the services run by the team.
• Mentor teammates and participate in design discussions.
• Learn cloud product and codebase to understand customer needs with deep context.
