Job summary

ARQ in London seeks a world-class Senior Software Engineer for the Platform team to architect and build infrastructure that powers a modern fintech. You will design secure, highly available IaC libraries, CLI tools, and patterns to accelerate product engineering delivery.

The ideal candidate thrives on deep technical problem solving, has broad knowledge across distributed systems, and can contribute to the security-minded, scalable infrastructure ARQ uses to move value across borders.

Qualifications

• Strong background in full-cycle software development.
• Experience driving the architecture and implementation of large-scale, distributed production systems.
• Fluent in at least one modern typed language (e.g., TypeScript, Go, Rust, or Java).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and IaC (Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK).
• Deep understanding of modern cybersecurity attack vectors and secure-by-default patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the secure, highly-available infrastructure layer powering ARQ’s platform.
• Ensure the product engineering org can spin up new infrastructure rapidly via shared IaC libraries, CLI tools and codebase patterns.
• Problem-solve, analyze and debug infrastructure issues with the wider engineering team.
• Strategize and execute rollout techniques for sweeping infra changes with security improvements.
• Orchestrate multi-region infrastructure and deployments to meet security, availability and compliance requirements.
• Build, maintain and optimize high-volume CI infrastructure with reusable pipeline templates for a microservices architecture.
• Implement GitOps workflows for declarative deployments.
• Improve monitoring and alerting with Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
