Job summary

ARQ is hiring a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for our fintech products. You’ll work with a talented team to deliver secure, high-performing services that power our money-mover infrastructure across borders.

You’ll contribute to greenfield projects and modernize existing platforms, building REST APIs and microservices. Our stack centers on Java, Spring Boot, and Postgres, with a focus on maintainability and rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum background in backend development with strong Java skills.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, Math, Physics or related fields is required.
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) and a track record in building scalable products.

Responsibilities

• Greenfield development and improvement of existing systems.
• Build REST APIs and microservices; evolve core systems (payments, treasury, transactions).
• Leverage Java on the backend with Postgres; use Spring Boot for delivery.
• Follow a pragmatic approach with clean code, TDD, DDD, and CI/CD practices.
