Job summary

Motorway, the UK's leading online car-selling platform, is growing its Developer Experience team. We are building a new, secure, standardised container platform on AWS Fargate and expanding observability and tooling to reduce toil and speed delivery.

You will own and evolve production platforms at scale, automate workflows, and mentor engineers while maintaining high reliability and safety in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of owning and operating web platforms in production at scale.
• Strong experience with AWS in a production environment.
• Experience designing and operating continuous delivery systems that support safe, zero-downtime deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve AWS environments and shared platform infrastructure for reliability and scalability.
• Design and build self-service tooling for engineers to deploy and operate services correctly.
• Automate common workflows and standardise infrastructure using IaC and platform abstractions.
• Define platform monitoring and alerting standards with meaningful signals.
• Enable product teams to use shared metrics to improve service reliability.
• Own and evolve continuous delivery and release capabilities for fast and safe deployments.
• Stay current with best practices in hosting, CD, and developer experience; mentor others.
