Job summary

Trayport Limited in Greater London seeks an experienced SRE/Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure with on-prem awareness. You will own networking design, reliability, and automation, delivering scalable, observable systems with AI-assisted enhancements.

You will mentor engineers, review architectures, and contribute to the platform roadmap, ensuring operability and resilience from day one.

Qualifications

• Background in Operations or SRE running highly available production platforms.
• Deep hands-on AWS (VPC, networking, EKS) and Azure (AKS, Key Vault, networking).
• Strong networking fundamentals including routing, firewalls, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Production Kubernetes experience at scale with day-2 operations.
• Infrastructure-as-code and automation as a default working style (Terraform, Ansible; Python/Go/Bash).
• Demonstrable use of AI tooling to improve engineering or operational workflows.
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate infra across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments.
• Own core networking design and implementation, including private links and load balancing.
• Engineer for high availability, multi-region/ AZ, and disaster recovery.
• Develop and maintain IaC, CI/CD, and Kubernetes platforms as products.
• Define SLOs, observability standards, and drive post-incident reviews.
• Identify AI-assisted workflows and establish guardrails for safe AI use.
