Job summary

Preply is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer in the R&D Automation team to design backend systems and build agentic AI capabilities. You’ll work across Engineering, Product and Data to deploy reliable AI-powered automation at scale.

With ~8 years of experience and strong Python/API skills, you’ll shape how Preply’s platform evolves while collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend experience with large-scale systems.
• Strong Python and API integration skills.
• Experience with AI agents or agentic workflows is a plus.
• Excellent English communication at a professional level (C1+).

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI agents and the harness powering them.
• Create reusable capabilities and integrations with engineering systems.
• Develop agentic workflows across teams, including testing and reviews.
• Experiment with new AI capabilities and scale successful approaches.
• Ensure reliable, context-aware agentic automation.
