Job summary

Quantinuum in the UK (and CO/MN locations) is seeking a Chief Platform Architect to lead the design of a scalable quantum software developer platform, including access portals, workflow orchestration, and security.

You will mentor senior engineers, define the technical roadmap, and collaborate with leaders on hardware-software co-design to translate business needs into production-ready systems. Strong cloud-native, CI/CD, and SRE background is required.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years in software engineering with 3–5+ years in senior architect/lead roles.
• Experience in developer platforms and cloud-native architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience leading architecture for large-scale projects.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and specs of a high-performance developer platform.
• Refine quantum access API and portal architecture for scale.
• Transform portals into an app-dev framework using cloud workflows.
• Define interfaces for hosting components for internal and external devs.
• Ensure security and reliability as the platform scales.
• Deliver customizable cloud-based hybrid apps to end users.
• Translate business goals into technical requirements; guide tech roadmap.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote coding excellence.
