Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Plastic Consumables Development Engineer to lead development and technical projects for plastic and seal products, overseeing the full lifecycle from research to implementation.

You will apply injection moulding expertise, CAD skills, and strict quality controls (ISO 9001/13485), support Product Management and Quality teams, and drive patent screening, benchmarking, and certification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Plastics Technology or Mechanical Engineering with plastics specialization.
• Solid knowledge of injection moulding technology and plastic component design.
• Proficiency in CAD software and production of integrated assemblies in controlled environments.
• Experience in development, industrialization and production of plastic components and assemblies.
• Fluent in English and excellent cross-cultural collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development projects for plastic and seal products (tubes, plates, seals).
• Conduct technology research, feasibility studies, and manage patent screening.
• Prepare and maintain ISO 9001/13485 compliant documentation.
• Develop and implement quality control testing procedures for plastics.
• Provide technical support to Product Management and Quality teams.
• Support product complaints with third-level analysis.
• Coordinate benchmark testing and certification with external sites.
