Job summary

Azenta UK, Ltd. is seeking a Plastic Consumables Development Engineer to lead development projects for plastic and seal products (tubes, plates, seals) and oversee the full lifecycle from research to implementation.

You will compile ISO 9001/13485 documentation, support quality control, and provide technical leadership across product management and customers. The role requires expertise in injection moulding, CAD proficiency, and experience industrializing plastic components.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plastics Technology or Mechanical Engineering, or Technician with plastics experience.
Solid knowledge of injection moulding technology and plastic-friendly component design.
Proficiency in CAD software and experience with industrialization and production of assemblies.
Experience in development, industrialization and production of plastic components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

Lead development projects for plastic and seal products including tubes, plates, and seals.
Conduct technology research, feasibility studies, and manage patent screening.
Prepare and maintain ISO 9001/13485 compliant documentation.
Develop and implement new quality control testing procedures for plastics and seals.
Act as technical expert supporting Product Management and Quality teams.
Generate data for technical validation and testing.
Provide third‑level support for product complaints and conduct comparative testing.
Coordinate benchmark testing and certification activities with external sites when needed.
