Job summary
KLA Corporation is seeking a highly skilled PhD-level researcher to lead development of plasma etch and deposition technologies for Advanced Packaging, Photonics, and advanced semiconductor applications. The role spans simulation, hardware design, and collaboration with customers and partners globally.
You will drive innovation, mentor engineers, and contribute to IP strategy while engaging with internal and external stakeholders. International travel is expected.
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Plasma Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Semiconductor Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant industrial or research experience in plasma processing, semiconductor equipment development, or advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of plasma etch and/or deposition technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of breakthrough plasma etch and deposition technologies for multiple applications.
- Solve challenging process and hardware problems using first-principles, simulation, experiments and data-driven analysis.
- Drive invention activities and contribute to IP strategy.
- Lead investigation of complex process integration and hardware performance challenges.
- Mentor junior engineers and present findings to leadership and partners.
- Interpret modelling tools to predict plasma behaviour and guide design.
