Job summary

KLA is seeking a highly skilled researcher to advance technology in plasma processes for advanced packaging and related fields. The role involves hands-on development, collaboration with engineering teams, and contributing to IP strategy.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Physics and extensive experience in plasma processing, plus familiarity with COMSOL and simulations. International travel may be required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics or related field is required or highly preferred.
• Significant industrial or research experience in plasma processing or semiconductor equipment development is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of plasma etch and deposition technologies for Advanced Packaging, Photonics, Compound Semiconductor, Quantum, MEMS and Specialty Semiconductor applications.
• Address complex process integration and hardware challenges with first-principles thinking, simulations, and experiments.
• Guide junior engineers and scientists, and contribute to technical reviews and priorities across the organization.
• Communicate findings through technical reports, presentations, and publications.
