Job summary

KLA, via its SPTS division in Newport, seeks an experienced RF & Plasma Technologist to design, develop, and test RF sub-assemblies and plasma hardware for advanced semiconductor etch and deposition systems. You will work with process, electrical, mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to deliver robust subsystem solutions and world-class plasma performance.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Physics, Plasma Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline.
• Extensive industrial experience in plasma processing, RF engineering, vacuum systems and semiconductor equipment.
• Strong communication skills and the credibility to act as a cross-functional technical authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead RF and plasma hardware development across RF matching networks and sub-assemblies.
• Collaborate with process, electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Plan and conduct lab experiments, analyze data, and document conclusions.
• Coordinate design reviews and mentor engineers.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, universities, and research institutions.
• Prepare development reports and technical reviews.
