Job summary

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join the Development Control Team. You will process complex and non-complex planning applications, including major cases with support from a Principal Planning Officer, and prepare reports for committees.

You will supervise Planning Officers and mentor team members, with regular 1-to-1s and access to training opportunities. The successful candidate will have extensive development control experience, strong

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant experience in development control work, including enforcement.
• Ability to deal with complex planning applications and negotiate legal agreements.
• Membership of RTPI or a qualification enabling membership within 12 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Process both complex and non-complex planning applications.
• Deal with major planning applications with support from a Principal Planning Officer.
• Prepare reports, both delegated and for Committee, and present applications at Committee.
• Supervise work undertaken by Planning Officers and support development of other team members.
• Participate in regular 1-to-1 meetings and identify formal training needs.
