Job summary

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is inviting applications for a Graduate Planning Officer in the Development Control Team. You will manage non-complex planning applications, register and consult, and assist with more complex cases and planning appeals.

You will also help maintain the Section 106 register and process trees/high hedge applications, with pre-application guidance to the public. Supported by a Principal Planning Officer, you will have regular 1-to-1s, friendly team environment,

Qualifications

• Masters in Town Planning (or final-year in progress).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyse complex information and adapt to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Process own caseload of non-complex planning applications including registration and consultation.
• Support wider team in processing complex applications and administration of planning appeals.
• Maintain the Section 106 register and process works to trees/high hedge applications.
• Provide pre-application advice to the public.
• Work with a Principal Planning Officer with regular 1-to-1 meetings and training needs.
