Job summary

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is recruiting a Senior Planning Officer in the Development Control Team. You will handle complex and non-complex planning applications, with support for major schemes and reporting to Committee.

You will supervise Planning Officers, contribute to reports, training, and development, and work in a friendly team with regular 1-to-1 meetings. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills and ability to analyse complex information.
Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or a qualification enabling membership within 12 months.
Experience in development control and dealing with planning applications.

Responsibilities

Process complex and non-complex planning applications, including major schemes with support.
Prepare reports for delegated decisions and Committee presentations.
Supervise Planning Officers and support training and development.
Contribute to regular 1-to-1 meetings and team development.
Engage with enforcement and negotiation of legal agreements where needed.
