Job summary

Hyndburn Borough Council invites applications for a Planning Manager (Development Management) to lead and continually improve the development management service, including planning enforcement, and personally handle more complex planning applications. You will work with the Head of Planning and Transportation to ensure efficient, proactive, and customer-focused service delivery.

RTPI membership and deep knowledge of planning and development control are essential; you should be computer literate

Qualifications

• Member of the RTPI with excellent knowledge and experience of planning and development control.
• Computer literate and able to use development control IT systems.
• Able to manage people and budgets with strong negotiation skills.
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and ongoing improvement of the development management service, including planning enforcement.
• Personally handle more complex planning applications.
• Collaborate with Head of Planning and Transportation to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Engage with residents, applicants and elected members as part of the process.
