Job summary

Hyndburn Borough Council seeks a Planning Manager (Development Management) to lead the development management service, including enforcement, and to personally handle complex planning applications. You will work with the Head of Planning and Transportation to ensure an efficient, proactive, customer-focused service.

Candidates should be RTPI members with strong negotiation skills, IT systems knowledge, and experience in managing teams and budgets.

Qualifications

• Member of the RTPI with knowledge of planning and development control.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential.
• Able to use development IT systems and manage information.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery and continuous improvement of the development management service, including planning enforcement.
• Personally handle more complex planning applications.
• Lead and develop staff, budget management, and performance in the service.
• Engage with residents, applicants and elected members, and work with the Head of Planning and Transportation.
